Shipping Policy

We will wait until we have all the items in your order before dispatching any of them. For example, if you order one item marked as "Usually dispatches within 24 hours" and another marked "Stock dispatches within 5-10 days", we will dispatch both to you when the "5-10 days" item becomes available.

In some rare instances we might decide to dispatch some items sooner. This will be at our discretion and only if we decide the order and the nature of the delay justifies this action.

If a pre-order is added to your order, all items will only ship when the pre-order item is released. Please keep in mind that if an item is not released yet, the date displayed is only an estimated release date and might change.

Postage:

ShopASave offers the following different types of Postage:

Speed Services Counter-to-counter: Cost R45.00

If you choose this option, the parcel has to be collected at your Post Office counter. If we dispatch the item before 13:00 you can collect it from the Post Office counter the following day (Saturdays excluded). You only need your Tracking number and proof of ID, there is no need to wait for a notification from the Post Office that the parcel is ready for collection.

To your Door Delivery: Cost R49.00 for Main Centers and R79.00 for Regional Areas

(The following areas are Main Centers: Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Port Elizabeth, East London, Bloemfontein, George and Kimberley. Note that areas such as Randburg, Boksburg, Benoni, Krugersdorp etc. are unfortunately not Main Centres. Phone or email us if unsure.)

If you choose this option, we send our couriers to deliver the parcel to your door. The delivery time is usually between 24-48 hours and Weekends and Public holidays are not included in delivery time. Please ensure that with this shipping method, you specify a street delivery address where someone will be available during daytime to receive the parcel. Also make sure we have a contact telephone number (cell number preferred) where the courier company can contact you if they have any difficulty with the delivery of your parcel.

Free Delivery: We offer free delivery on all orders with a minimum of 2 items and a total value of over R450.00

How does this work? In order to qualify for free shipping you have to checkout at least 2 items with a total order value of R450.00. If you are in a regional area you will only be able to select free shipping to your Post Office counter (Speed Services). Courier delivery will be reduced to R30.00 (normal charge for regional is R79). Only main centers will qualify for free courier delivery.
Main Centre Examples:
1 Item in basket, Total value of R500.00 - No free Shipping
2 Items in basket, Total value of R500.00 - Free shipping Speedservices or Courier
2 Items in basket, Total value of R250.00 - No free Shipping

Regional Centre Examples:
1 Item in basket, Total value of R500.00 - No free Shipping
2 Items in basket, Total value of R500.00 - free shipping via Speedservices and R30 for Courier
2 Items in basket, Total value of R250.00 - No free Shipping

If you choose Main Centre delivery and you are actually falling in a Regional Centre, ShopASave hold the right to change your delivery method to Speedservices.

Collect an Item:

You can save the delivery / postage charges if you choose to collect your order from our shop in Glenfair Shopping Centre - Pretoria. We will notify you once the order is ready for collection. The full details and road map to our premises will be mailed to you on request. A map is also available on the website.

International orders:

We only ship to selected international destinations. Only DVDs and Cds (Music) can be shipped outside of the borders of South Africa. Most of the countries have been added to our registration page, but if your country is not listed and you still wish to order, please send us an email and we will let you know if we can ship to that country.

We charge actual shipping charges on all international parcels. International parcels are sent via signed for (registered) / insured Airmail and usually take between 12-21 days to arrive at their destination, depending on how long it takes to get through customs in the receiving country. You can trace the parcel on the Post Office website (www.sapo.co.za) up to the point it leaves the country. However we can only request the Post Office to trace the parcel from our side 30 days after dispatch. All import duties charged when the parcel arrives in your country are for your own account.

The easiest to check how much shipping will cost you, is to add the items to your basket and to proceed to checkout. You will be able to review the shipping charges before you have to go through final checkout.

We accept all major international credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club). Should you not be able to pay us with a credit card, we can make an exception and accept a bank transfer, but this will incur an additional R100.00 banking fees (this is how much we have to pay to get the money released into our account).

If you are still unsure about something, please contact us and we will try and answer your questions as best we could.

Availability Guide

This means that we have the actual item in stock, ready to dispatch within 24 hours.

If the item is available but not in stock, this is the estimated time it will take us to receive it from the supplier, pack it and prepare it for dispatch.

Sometimes an item is not available / no longer available from our South African suppliers, and we have to source it from overseas. This is the estimated time it will take us to receive it from the supplier, pack it and prepare it for dispatch.

This item may be out of stock with our supplier or out of print. We first have to check if it is available from any of our suppliers. If we cannot obtain it from our South African suppliers, we will try our best to get it from one of our overseas suppliers.

This item is not yet available / published. You can order this title - It will be sent to you as soon we receive it from the supplier. The latest release-date information we have from the suppliers may also be displayed. If the price is not yet available we will first confirm this when the item is released. Note that the estimated release date might change as it is not 100% confirmed until the item is released.

Return & Refund Policy

At ShopASave we want you to be happy every time you shop with us.

If ShopASave supply the wrong product or if the product is in any way faulty or damaged, ShopASave will exchange it for the correct one within 14 days of receipt by the customer. ShopASave will make a reasonable effort to exchange the product, but if replacement is not possible, ShopASave will refund the purchase price including delivery cost.

ShopASave must be contacted and notified of a defective / wrong item within 48 hours of receipt thereof to be considered for an exchange or refund.

Please note that the wrong / defective item must be returned to ShopASave within 14 days of receipt of the item.

Note that once opened, the following types of goods will not be accepted for a refund and will only be replaced with another copy of the same product: Videos, DVDs, computer software and games.

Every product sold by ShopASave comes with a supplier's / manufacturers guarantee.

 

Security and Privacy Policies

When you order from us the first pages take details of your order, contact and delivery details. When you start the process of making a card payment you are transferred out of our site to Virtual Card Services, an international card processing company who handle our transactions. They handle the card processing of thousands of sites around the world, and if you have bought via the internet before you have probably used them. You are protected by 128bit encryption, which is one of the highest levels available for commercial use. When you enter their site the Golden Padlock will appear, indicating the SSL security is in place and it is safe to enter your card details. IF THE GOLDEN PADLOCK DOES NOT APPEAR WHEN YOUR CARD DETAILS ARE REQUESTED DO NOT PROCEED AND CONTACT US or Virtual Card Services. Please note that some networks will not allow you to access SSL protected pages. If the link keeps failing, check your internet settings as the settings probably does not allow SSL security.

Please note that ShopASave NEVER see or receive your card details.
Virtual Card Services takes that information and processes the transaction. We are notified as to the transaction details and status but not the card number or other information. You will receive a separate email from Virtual Card Services confirming the transaction on your credit card.

Your credit card will only be charged once we've confirmed availability of the items ordered, and we've done the necessary security checks.

In some instances (usually when the order is for a very large amount) we may require proof of Identity, a landline telephone number where we can contact you, proof of residential address, a copy of the front and back of the credit card used for the purchase, as well as signed authorisation for us to charge you credit card before the transaction will be confirmed with Virtual Card Services. This is security measures to protect both ourselves and our valued customers against fraudulant use of credit cards.

If you post, fax or telephone your card details to us, we destroy the card number as soon as the transaction is confirmed. Every time you order you need to provide your card details as we do not hold them, even for regular customers.

Virtual Card Services process all credit card transactions. All credit card transactions are Secure Socket Layers encrypted. The company registration documents and the site's registered domain name are checked and verified by Thawte. www.vcs.co.za

Virtual Card Services is committed to providing secure online services. All encryption complies with international standards. Encryption is used to protect the transmission of personal information when completing online transactions. Virtual Card Services Internet servers are protected by firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Payment Method at ShopASave

Direct deposit:

Simply go to your nearest Standard bank branch and deposit the total order amount into our bank account (see our banking details below). Your reference number is the unique order number found at the top of your order confirmation. Now fax the deposit slip to ShopASave at 012 361 9375 or email a scanned copy to orders@shopasave.net. Once we receive proof of payment the order will be processed.

Cheque deposits:

You may pay us with a cheque, but be unfortunately we will have to wait until the cheque is cleared by the bank (usually 7 working days) before your order will be shipped. This is also applicable to items marked 'dispatch within 24 hours'. Note that this might delay your order unnecessarily and is therefore not preferred.

Internet Banking:

Set ShopASave up as a beneficiary in your online banking facility (see our banking details below). Once your electronic transaction is complete, make a printout of the page confirming payment and fax it to  ShopASave at 012 361 9375. Alternatively make a screendump of this page and e-mail to orders@shopasave.net. Once we receive proof of payment the order will be processed.

Banking Details would be sent to you once an order has been placed online.

Credit Card Payments:

When paying by credit card, all transactions will be processed in South African Rands (ZAR). Our Credit Card Payments are done through a credit card payment organization, Virtual Card Services.

Your credit card will only be charged once we've confirmed availability of the items ordered, and we've done the necessary security checks.
